About Fastag

What is the Product

FASTag is a simple to use, reloadable tag which enables automatic deduction of toll charges and lets you pass through the toll plaza without stopping for the cash transaction. FASTag is linked to a prepaid account from which the applicable toll amount is deducted. The tag employs Radio-frequency Identification (RFID) technology and is affixed on the vehicle's windscreen after the tag account is active.

How useful is FASTag

Saves Fuel and Time

FASTag is read by the tag reader at the plaza and the toll amount is deducted automatically, when the vehicle approaches the toll plaza. The vehicle with FASTag doesn't need to stop at the toll plaza for the cash transaction.

Web

Web portal for customers. Customers can access their statements by logging on the FASTag customer portal.

SMS and Email Alert of Transactions

Customer will receive SMS & Email alerts on his registered mobile number / Email address for all the transactions done in his tag account.

Online recharge

Customer may recharge his tag account online through, Credit Card/ Debit Card or Net Banking

Prepaid Toll Pass

No need to carry cash. Customer doesn't need to worry about carrying cash for the toll payments.

1. What are the documents required to apply for FASTag?

You need to carry original as well as copy of your KYC document. You need to submit the following documents along with the application for FASTag:
     Bank Customer:
     • Registration Certificate (RC) of the vehicle.
     Non-Bank Customer:
     • Photo identity proof.
     • Valid Address Proof as per RBI guidelines.
     • Passport size photograph of the vehicle owner.
     • Registration Certificate (RC) of the vehicle.

2. What is validity of the FASTag?

The validity of the FASTag is for 5 years and after purchasing, you need to recharge the FASTag as per your requirement.

3. Can I use one FASTag for multiple vehicles?

No, the FASTags issued are Vehicle specific. You cannot use one FASTag in multiple vehicles.

4. Do I have multiple wallet account for multiple tags?

All the tags purchased by you through Bank will be mapped with one wallet account.
Once you recharge the wallet, the amount can be used for payment of fees at Toll plazas for any number of vehicles mapped with the wallet.

5. Do I need to use any specific lane at the toll plaza for FASTag?

Yes, you will have to use the lanes demarcated as FASTag Lanes for FASTag users.

6. How I will get know the charges levied by Toll Plazas?

SMS will be delivered on your registered mobile number on each transactions at Toll Plazas.

7. How to raise the complaint of any incorrect debit?

Please call at Bank Call Centre number 1800 233 4526/1800 102 2636 to register your complaint and also can register your complaint at BOM branch or email at mahaconnect@mahabank.co.in or digitalsupport@mahabank.co.in..

8. How will i block my FASTag in case of FASTag lost/Stolen?

Please call at Bank Call Centre number1800 233 4526/1800 102 2636 to block the FASTag or email at mahaconnect@mahabank.co.in/

9. How will I get refund of my replaced FASTags?

Your old tags will be replaced by new tags and the balance in the wallet will be mapped with the new tag.

10. How do we know whether my FASTag is active or not?

Please call at Bank's Call Centre number 1800 233 4526/1800 102 2636 or Check on My FASTag App.

11. What are charges applicable for recharge?

There may be charges associated with recharging the FASTag account through different channels. There is no convenience fee on recharge through UPI & RuPay Debit card.

12. What if I relocate to another city?

FASTag will work on all the enabled toll plazas across the country. You are requested to update the current address at our branch.

13. What if I sell/Transfer my car?

In case you have sold or transferred your vehicle, please inform nearest branch and close the account. The balance, if any, will be transferred in the linked account.

14. What is the normal distance between two adjacent Toll Plazas?

As per the fees rules 2008,the spacing between two adjacent toll plazas should be 60 km.

15. In case of harassment/misconduct/discourteous/rude behavior of toll collection staff what should we do?

In case of such a scenario, a complaint is to be lodged with respective project directors at the Toll Plaza.Further the incident may be reported at etc.nodal@ihmcl.com or call on toll free number 1033.

16. Is there any minimum or maximum value for FASTag recharge/top-up?

The minimum recharge amount varies based on vehicle class refer “charges mentioned above”. KYC customers can recharge maximum upto Rs.2,00,000 and Minimum KYC customers can recharge upto Rs.10,000/-

17. Which are the roads where the tag can be used?

FASTag is accepted at 600+ Toll plazas on National & State Highways across the country. You can see the list of plazas in the Active Toll Plazas section on www.ihmcl.com website.

18. What is the meaning of tag blacklisted? What can be done to avoid the Blacklist of tag?

A blacklist of tag means vehicle is not allowed to pay through FASTag at the toll plaza. There are various reason of blacklisting of Tag, i.e. Tag is not having sufficient balance in his FASTag account. In such cases you can call at toll free call center numbers and get the reason of blacklist. To avoid Blacklisting of tag, you are suggested to recharge the tag whenever you get SMS of low balance. Also FASTag can be blacklisted by the law enforcement agencies due to any rule violation complaint register against the vehicle. In such cases the enforcement agencies request issuer or acquirer to add the tag id the in the blacklist.

19. FASTag doesn’t work even when all lanes display FASTag logo?

In case FASTag is not acceptable at the toll plaza, Customer should call on the 1033 toll free number and register the complaint for the same. 1033 call center is set up by NHAI for all road assistance to the highway user which includes FASTag as well.

20. I was forced to pay by cash at the toll plaza, though I am having sufficient balance in FASTag?

In case forcing to pay by cash though your account is having sufficient balance in FASTag. Customer should call on the 1033 toll free number and register the complaint for the same. 1033 call center is set up by NHAI for all road assistance to the highway user which includes FASTag as well.

21. How return journey is calculated through FASTag?

Return journey toll fare rules are configured at toll plaza acquiring bank system and acquiring bank is will calculate return journey benefit on the basis of plaza fare rules.

22. What is my UPI ID for reloading of FASTag?

UPI ID of FASTag is netc.vehicle registration number@mahb.

23. What if I have recharged the FASTag but Money is not credited in my FASTag Account?

In this scenario, you register the compliant with us. The amount will be refunded.

24. If the customer care number (1033) is not working what is the alternate option?

You can register complaint at email id nodal@ihmcl.com and connect to Bank’s customer care number.

26. I got a new FASTag but when i have used for the first it’s says Blacklisted but i have sufficient balance in my wallet.

A blacklist of tag means vehicle is not allowed to pay through FASTag at the toll plaza. 27. How can I upgrade my KYC?

To upgrade the KYC, please follow below given steps:

• You can upgrade the KYC either by visiting Branch or through FASTag portal https://fastag.bankofmaharashtra.in/

• Upload the ID proof and Address proof.

• KYC will be upgraded within 7 working days from the date of submission of the request.

28. How can I update my Vehicle Registration Number?

To update Vehicle Registration Number, please follow below given steps:

• You can update your Vehicle Registration Number either by visiting Branch or through FASTag portal https://fastag.bankofmaharashtra.in/

• Vehicle Registration Number will be updated within 7 working days from the date of submission of the request.Upload the ID proof and Address proof.

29. How can I replace my existing FASTag?

To replace the existing FASTag, please follow below given steps:

• You can replace the existing damaged FASTag by visiting Branch.

• FASTag will be replaced within 7 working days from the date of submission of the request at the branch.

30. How can I close my active FASTag?

To close the active FASTag, please follow below given steps:

• You can close the active FASTag either by visiting Branch or through FASTag portal https://fastag.bankofmaharashtra.in/

• FASTag will be closed within 7 working days from the date of submission of the request.

31. How can I check my FASTag wallet balance?

You can check your FASTag wallet balance by using any of below mentions options:

• Please login to FASTag portal https://fastag.bankofmaharashtra.in/

• Give a missed call to 8657864198 from your registered mobile number.
